Bagging Plant Operations in Cochin Port Trust
LOTS Bagging Plant Operations The bagging unit comprises of equipments which are fixed inside the unit, such as weighing & sewing machines these are for the purpose of weighing & sewing of the bags of cargo which comes downwards from the top fixed container unit, which connects to the hopper with outlets that allow grain to pass through them to the attached weighing scales in the upper container unit and it lets it down after being weighed. In the container bagging unit there are stitching operators on both sides of the doors who stitch bags filled with the grain, and drop them onto the conveyor belts. The grab is an equipment which is used to collect bulk cargo from the holds of ship’s by automatically grabbing it by itself thereafter it closes and lifts the bulk cargo on to the top of the hopper ready for letting it either automatically or opened by laborers by pulling a rope which is connected to it for the purpose of opening. The minimum grab capacity is five tons and the maximum grab capacity is twenty tons, this has to be connected to a crane such as the Gottwald or the vessels gears which has the required lifting capacity. The mechanism of the grab requires power to be opened or closed
