LOTS Food Aid Logistics Service

One of the little known facets of the LOTS story is our enduring and satisfying work in humanitarian aid delivery of the past 30 years, especially food aid, when the same is necessary due to natural calamities, droughts,political upheavals etc. LOTS is the preferred vendor for on-the-ground delivery in some of the challenging and compromised logistics environments from Bishkek to Bosaso and Yangon to Pyongyang.

LOTS works closely with major ship-owners and operators who perform in this niche space of food aid ocean logistics and has developed deep insights on the requirements of NGOs like WFP, Red Cross, Save the children and Catholic Relief Services and other stakeholders in this huge worldwide challenge like USAID and USDA.

Over the past 30 years, LOTS has an unparalleled exposure to making delivery possible with a network and resources developed and nurtured over the years.

When famine was declared in Somalia LOTS was already compiling and collating information on infrastructure and resources available to make delivery closest to the affected areas. LOTS is acknowledged as the 'outlier' in this very niche space of logistics. LOTS is not a gratuitous philanthropist but its expertise and experience definitely makes the food aid reach cheaper and faster, which makes that great difference in meeting the needs of the hungry.

LOTS has handled more than 3 million tonnes of food aid on hundreds of ships worldwide in the last 20 years. LOTS forte is to leverage the existing port resources and make the last-mile delivery, using a combination of road, rail or barge from ship to warehouse.

LOTS significant resource in this endeavor is its team of five Port Captains with a combined experience of more than a hundred years in shipping & logistics and sharing an intimate knowledge of ports and inland logistics infrastructure in some truly remote locations.
